If you fancy buying a Ukulele, or are going to ask for one for a present, a good entry-level brand is Mahalo. These are available from eBay or Amazon and are not very expensive.
The great thing with these is that if you decide to upgrade at a later date to a more expensive model you can still keep your Mahalo Uke for taking on holiday, or leaving around a relatives house, for practising.
